AyahInk

Terms of Service

Effective 27 July 2026

Welcome to AyahInk. By using the AyahInk website and the Qur'an Journal web app (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. The Service

AyahInk provides a free Qur'an reflection journal and mushaf, together with optional paid conveniences such as cloud sync across devices. The Qur'an, the journaling tools, and your ability to write and back up locally are free and do not require an account.

2. Your account

If you create an account for Cloud Sync, you are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. Accounts are for individual personal use. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

3. Your content is yours

You retain full ownership of everything you write, highlight, draw, and record in your journal โ€” including any voice reflections. By enabling Cloud Sync, you grant AyahInk only the limited permission needed to store, transmit, and sync your content across your own devices in order to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership of your reflections and we do not use them for advertising or model training. That applies to your voice recordings as much as to your writing.

4. Free and paid plans; fair use

  • The Qur'an, journaling, and local backup are free, always.
  • Cloud Sync and related premium features may be offered on paid plans, including a one-time "Lifetime" option.
  • "Lifetime" means for the operational lifetime of the AyahInk Cloud Sync service. Paid storage is subject to reasonable personal fair-use limits; it is not an unlimited backup or file-hosting service, and abusive or automated bulk use may be limited.

5. Payments

When paid plans are active, payments are processed by Stripe. Prices and any refund terms will be shown at the point of purchase. Applicable taxes may apply.

6. AI companion (optional)

You may connect your own AI provider account to generate additional reflection questions. Please understand what this feature is and is not:

  • It is a journalling aid, not a source of religious knowledge. The AI is instructed to do one thing only: ask you open questions about your own life. It must not tell you what a verse means, quote or translate scripture, or give any religious ruling. Nothing it produces is a fatwa, a tafsir, or religious advice, and it is not reviewed by a scholar before you see it.
  • AI-generated questions are always labelled and are kept separate from the questions written and checked by people, which remain unchanged on every ayah page.
  • AI output can be wrong. If a generated question misreads its verse or strays beyond asking a question, please report it using the report link on the question, or email us. Do not rely on it for religious guidance โ€” for that, ask a qualified scholar.
  • You are responsible for your provider account, its terms, its rate limits and any charges it may incur. AyahInk does not supply, endorse, control or pay for any AI provider, and is not responsible for what a provider does with what is sent to it.
  • We may limit how often the feature can be used, or withdraw it, to keep the Service running.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including attempting to breach or probe its security, disrupt other users, reverse-engineer for abuse, or use it for unlawful purposes.

8. Availability and "as is"

We work hard to keep the Service reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for loss of data; please keep your own backups using the export feature. To the fullest extent permitted by law, AyahInk's liability arising from the Service is limited.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that risk harm to the Service or its users.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and you agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service.
